Pokémon GO: five gameplay and quality-of-life updates

Zygarde Cells now arrive when you finish a Route, a warning protects ★ 100% Pokémon, and the map is easier to read. Here is what changed.

Niantic recently rolled out several adjustments in Pokémon GO. They are already live.

  • Zygarde Cells on Routes: a Cell found on a Route is now given as a reward when you complete the Route. You no longer need to collect it from the map. The odds of finding one stay the same, so not every Route has one.

  • Compass and weather: the two icons are now a single icon. The Compass shows while you rotate or zoom the view, the Weather icon the rest of the time. Tap the Weather icon to see active conditions and boosts.

  • ★ 100% Pokémon: the game asks you to confirm before you transfer a Pokémon with maxed-out stats. During bulk transfers, it shows how many ★ 100% Pokémon you selected.

  • Clearer map: wild Pokémon, Gyms, Power Spots and PokéStops overlap less. It is easier to tap the encounter you want.

  • Community Ambassador meetups: you can check in from the in-game map (Nearby menu, purple Meetup pin, Check In). Check-in opens 15 minutes before the meetup starts.
