A costume for almost every event
Since 2018, Halloween, the holidays, New Year, Pokémon Day, spring and GO Fest have nearly all brought costumed Pokémon. Pikachu has more than a hundred; other species have one, two or three.
When to find them
A costume only shows up during its event: in the wild, in raids, in research or in eggs, depending on the event. Many come back the next year for the same celebration, so it pays to know what you're missing before it starts.
Trading
A costumed Pokémon trades like any other and keeps its costume. Check what you're missing, then show your list to your friends.
Frequently asked questions
Why aren't Pikachu, Eevee, Pichu, Raichu and the Kanto starters here?
They have so many costumes that each has its own guide: costumed Pikachu, costumed Eevee and its evolutions, costumed Pichu and Raichu, costumed Kanto starters. You'll find them in the guide index.
How do I get a costumed Pokémon that's gone?
A costume is only available during its event, or when it comes back: Niantic often brings back Halloween, holiday and New Year costumes from one year to the next. Otherwise, trading with a friend is the only way.
Can a costumed Pokémon evolve?
Rarely. Most costumes released since 2020 can't evolve; some are released directly for every stage of the family.
