What is a regional?
Some Pokémon only appear in the wild in one part of the world. That can be a continent (Mr. Mime in Europe, Heracross in Central and South America), a hemisphere (Solrock in the east, Lunatone in the west), a climate (Corsola on tropical coasts), or a single country: Klefki in France, Stonjourner in the United Kingdom, Hawlucha in Mexico.
Some species also have regional forms: the color of Flabébé's flower, Furfrou's trim, Oricorio's style, the breed of Paldean Tauros. Each form is its own card in your checklist.
How to get them
At home: sort the list "By area" to see everything that appears in your part of the world.
On a trip: a stay abroad is a chance to check off a whole area at once.
By trading: a friend who lives elsewhere can trade you their regionals. GogoRaid's friend-code list brings together trainers from all over the world.
During big events: GO Fest and Tours often make every regional available everywhere for a few days.
The Ultra Beasts (Celesteela, Kartana, Stakataka, Blacephalon) and Tatsugiri can only be caught in raids, during events; Mime Jr. hatches from 5 km Eggs in Europe.
Areas can change
Rarely, but some pairs swap areas now and then, often when the season changes: Lunatone and Solrock did it five times between 2018 and 2022. Their card says so. We follow Niantic's announcements and update the page when a swap is announced; the date of the last check is at the bottom of the page.
